More Than Board Games Community Interest Company, are committed to fostering an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
1. Purpose
The More Than Board Games Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all.
This Code of Conduct applies to:
all attendees, exhibitors, demo hosts, volunteers, staff, and organisers
at/during:
setup & breakdowns, public events, private events, workspaces, social media channels and all communications.
2. Our Commitment
More Than Board Games is committed to:
- Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Encouraging positive community interaction
- Promote relationships that are based on openness, honesty, trust and respect
- Encourage open and clear communication between all staff, volunteers, hirers, hosts and attendees
- Supporting creativity, play, and shared enjoyment of tabletop gaming and related activities
- Working in a not-for-profit format
- Respect everyone’s right to personal privacy and ensure that any personal information is kept secure and not disclosed
- Taking concerns seriously and act where necessary
- Challenge any unacceptable behaviour or any breaches of this Code of Conduct
3. Expected Behaviour
- Treat all attendees, volunteers and staff with respect, including: personal space, boundries, consent, accesability needs, prefered names & prounouns.
- Act accordingly to safety instructions provided by Staff and Volunteers.
- Play games in a fair and sporting manner - win and lose gracefully.
- Make sure all players understand the rules before starting a game - being midnful of personal gaming prefferences and learning levels.
- Keep language and behaviour appropriate.
- Ask before taking pictures/videos of others.
- Respect venues, equipments, displays, assets and Games Library, inlcuding: putting back Library Games how you found them and notify staff/volunteers of any issues.
- No eating or drinking while using More Than Board Games Library Games/Assets.
- Report any concerns to the appropriate Staff or Volunteers.
4.Unacceptable Behaviour
The following behaviours are not acceptable:
- Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
- Unwanted physical contact or inappropriate attention
- Aggressive, threatening, or abusive behaviour
- Disruptive conduct that interferes with games, demos, or activities
- Damage to venue property, stock, or gaming materials
- Theft or attempted theft
- Excessive intoxication or substance misuse - No alcohol or illegal drugs to be brought into or used at events.
- Ignoring or refusing to follow reasonable instructions from staff
5. Anti-Harassment Policy
Harassment is not tolerated at any events, office space or during communications.
All participants, staff and volunteers are expected to comply with More Than Board Games Anti-Harassment Policy.
- No unwanted sexual attention, remarks, or physical contact.
- Refraining from making innapropritae comments about gender, sexuality, or presonal apearance.
- Obversing cues, wether verbal or non-verbal, that someone is uncomfortable. - If you make someone uncomfortable, apologies and respect their boundaies.

6. Reporting Concerns
If you experience or witness behaviour that breaches this Code of Conduct:
- Speak to a More Than Board Games staff member or volunteer or,
- Speak to a member of the venue staff
Reports will be taken seriously and handled as discreetly as possible.
7. Enforcement
More Than Board Games reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to breaches of this Code of Conduct, including:
- Verbal warnings
- Removal from a specific activity or area
- Ejection from events (without refund or reimbursement)
- Involvement of venue security or local authorities where appropriate
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct or with instructions from event staff may result in
removal from events, activities, or office space.
8. Responsibility
By attending, participating, working or volunteering at any More Than Board Games events or working spaces, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and to help create a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
