Who can sign-up for a Library Membership?

To become a Member, you must:

~ Be aged 18 or over 
~ Have permanent UK residence
~ Provide correct personal information: Full Name, UK Address, E-mail Address, Date of Birth
~ Agree to the Member’s Agreement & User Policy
~ Provide correct banking information via GoCardless for automatic payments
~ Have your personal and payment details checked and confirmed by a More Than Board Games Community Interest Company volunteer or staff member

Memberships will be approved once personal and banking details have been checked by a More Than Board Games Community Interest Company volunteer or staff member. 


How many items can I have on loan?

You can have 4 items on loan at any one time.
You can return all, some, or even none each visit.

We aim to run Library Open Days once a week: It's up to you how frequently you visit us to return and take out new items.


How long can I keep my items?

You can keep your items for up to four weeks.
You are always welcome to return items sooner, and take out new items. Making the most of our great games library :)


Some of our library items that are subject to a Loan Time Restriction.
Loan Time Restrictions means a game or item can only be on loan for a set number of weeks.
Any items under Loan Time Restrictions will be made clear on our website and/or when you take the items on loan.

New release titles, and high value items are most common items subject to Loan Time Restrictions. This is to allow other members to enjoy our new games and to prevent loss of our high value items.


What if I can't make it to a Library Open Day?

In most cases, we can arrange an alternative time for visits to our Office & Library.

How much does a membership cost?

The More Than Board Games Library Membership is free to sign up and there are no cancellation fees.

We charge £1 per item per week.

 

How are payments handled? 

We charge £1 per item per week, and payments are to be made when loaned items are returned to us.
We can either accept cash, card or automatic online payment. 

We use GoCardless for our online automatic payment handler. 

After agreeing to our Library Terms & Conditions, you will be redirected to our GoCardless Mandate.
You will need to enter your banking details on our secure online payment page to set up and authorise More Than Board Games Community Interest Company to take future payments automatically.
You will be notified before any payments are due to be taken. 

Payments References will read: 'MORETHANBOARD-xxxxx'

 

How do I update my account details?

Contact us at info@morethanboardgames.co.uk with the details you need to amend/update. We will periodically check your details, so please update us as soon as possible to prevent any delays using your membership.

Late Fees & Charges

We hope to never have to charge any additional fees to any of our members, if you have outstanding items please do contact us as soon as possible to amicably arrange a return date.

Late fees are fixed at £5 per overdue week for each outstanding item. 

After 4 weeks from your due return date: If we have not received your items, or you have not arranged an alternative drop off date, we will charge a Replacement Fee which is the RRP or replacement cost of each outstanding item, plus a £25 admin fee per item. 

 

Damages & Lost Components

We check each game as it is returned to us, we will not loan games with missing pieces that affect gameplay.
Once any library items have been loaned, it’s in your care.
If items are damaged or any parts are missing we may charge you for the repair or replacement. 

Determining if a game has been returned damaged or incomplete, and the value to be charged is at the discretion of More Than Board Games Community Interest Company.
If this frequently happens, we may close your account.

The More Than Board Games Library Location

Location: Sandringham Hub, 48 Sandringham Dr, Houghton Regis, Dunstable LU5 5UP

By Car: The Hub is close to both Houghton Regis and Dunstable town centre. It can be reached via Junction 11 (Luton) of the M1 motorway and is within easy reach of the A5 in Dunstable.
Parking: Free, unreserved, on street parking on Sandringham Drive and Tudor Drive.
Bus Stops: Milton Way and Windsor Drive serviced by Arriva.
Train Stations: The nearest stations are Leagrave and Luton.



Access Information

Stepfree access throughout the entire building and into/inside More Than Board Games Library space.

Sandringham Hub main entrance door: 74cm single door opening. 154cm double door opening (the main door may be closed during colder months. A member of the team can open this when needed)

More Than Board Games Office door: 90cm.
The library area has a width of 92cm.
Our library shelves start at 40cm from the floor, up to 150cm. 


Free, unreserved parking is available directly outside the entrance. There are 2 dropped-curbs outside the building entrance. 


We have chairs that are armless, with padded seats and padded backrests, if needed while you wait or browse.
There are Female and Male toilets and a wheelchair access toilet onsite. 


A member of our team will be present at all times to assist you if needed.
