Demons
Demons is a compelling game of strategy and chance for two players, inspired by ancient myths and Victorian occultists.
In the temple of an ancient god of Lust and Wrath, direct your coven of demon-possessed acolytes to aid their deity in escaping an attack from a cadre of warrior exorcists, the Slayers, or direct these fanatical killers in their elimination of the Demons.
The game develops as Slayers kill and remove Demons from the board, and Demons possess their opponents to add to their number.
After one side wins the first battle, record the numbers that survived on each side, switch roles and play again. Due to the game’s asymmetry, this is the only fair way to determine an overall winner. And, alternating roles after each battle, with different positions, goals and powers, challenges each player's strategic and tactical skills.
The element of chance in the mechanics of movement and action makes every game uniquely exciting, as the game's dice ensure that players cannot be certain which moves are possible on their next turn. Consequently, reversals of who has the advantage are always possible, the victory of one side over another is rarely inevitable, and the play remains engaging throughout.
The rules of Demons can be explained and understood in a few minutes, but the dilemmas of choice in tactics and strategy throughout the game make it medium-level in complexity. Players from ages 12 and up can enjoy it. - Description from The Publisher
